t-l-c Supports Scottish Govt. CivTech Demo Week

 

 the-learning-crowd were delighted to have been asked by the Digital Directorate of the Scottish Government to play a significant part in their CivTech demonstration week which finished yesterday.  Details here.

 Following a general shout out on Linkedin, Senior Associate, Neil Thomas was asked at really very short notice to develop a number teaching resources 12 online curriculum workshops, linked to the Scottish curriculum and in partnership with a variety of industry professionals. Neil also advised on constructing three live workshops for students between 10 and 17 years of age.

The workshops have run alongside the main CivTech 5.0 Demo Week, with their main aim being to highlight the importance of the STEAM subjects and encouraging young people to follow a STEAM career route.

 Each session of the three workshops held on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of February, were chaired by Neil and included live discussions with three keynote speakers, who all had various experience in several different tech industries. The workshops, which had the three key themes of Empowering Communities, Our Natural Environment and Health and Well Being, were supported and sponsored by AWS (Amazon Web Services) Sopra Steria, Harvey Nash and Vodafone Business.
